Okay, here we go...
I have installed a Gotek USB in an emax 1, no HD, SE1.1 with all disks also same OS SE1.1.
The Gotek has been updated with HXCFEUSB_V3_1_23_1a.UPD
ConfigFile is HXCFEUSB_HFE_beta_firmware [indexed-version]
Jumper setting is S0.
All disks loads fine with no problems. But i cant seem to format or save anything without getting a "Disk Error!" message.
This message appears some time, maybe 30 seconds, after these operations are started.
I am trying to save to/format an empty disk image with OS SE1.1 present.
I have tried to do following changes in the goteks menu-system:
Menu_0/0E_Emax [Format FAIL]
Menu_2/02_Write Enabled [Format FAIL]
Menu_1/0C_Emu_Shugart [Format FAIL]
All 3 above, [Save All FAIL]
Save All and Format fails no matter what.
Any suggestions? Is there a predefined config-file specific for emax that sorts this out? Or are some of the settings wrong?
Emax Cant Save To Disk
Re: Emax Cant Save To Disk
Use a faster USB stick
or
Use raw/img file format (export/convert the HFE to raw image and rename the file DSKA0000.IMG)
Btw the HFE Emax images (Can be converted to IMG) :

Re: Emax Cant Save To Disk
Ok thanks.
Im having the same problems with an akai s1000. (Cant save full disks/files without interruption and error.)
Have been using the same type of usb-sticks so they could be the culprit.
Is the indexed config-file supplied with the HXCFEUSB_V3_1_23_1a.UPD -update supposed to generally work with all types of samplers or does it generally require finetuning in the menu-system? Maybe generic shugart could do the trick as a last try?
(I know, many questions but this is a little opaque.)

Re: Emax Cant Save To Disk
V3_1_23_1a is not the latest version. Have a look into the "WIP" folder.Kna wrote: ↑Wed Oct 24, 2018 11:07 pm Ok thanks.

with HFE you generally don't have to "fine tune" anything. With RAW/IMG you may have to select the "system family"
Regarding your issues this sound like you have a quite slow usb stick. Two solutions : Use raw/img file format or use a better usb stick.
Re: Emax Cant Save To Disk
Ok again thanks.
Gonna try a faster usb-stick.
