Hi there, trying to run a Gotek SFR1M44 with HXC firmware on a Sega system 24, 4 player Hotrod.
I have the unit flashed with the HXC firmware and the image loaded into the USB drive.
The game will boot, see the drive, load the game, but comes to an error "disk write error" partway during the loading sequence.
I get the message about not inserting coins, then the next screen says "Sega Hotrod Get Ready!" It shows all 4 players with insert coin, then it goes to a write error.
I have changed the setting on the Gotek to allow write enable, but makes no difference.
Anyone have any thoughts?

Re: Gotek Sega system 24 - Hotrod
which firmware version are you using ?
Can you share the file image ?
(have you an oled/lcd screen on this Gotek ?)

Re: Gotek Sega system 24 - Hotrod
Running Firmware HxCFEUSB_V3_8_31a.UPD
This Gotek does not have the LCD Screen, just the 3x 7 segment displays.
Here is the image, have renamed for the indexing file structure.
Couldn't attach it, so here is a link.

The image looks fine.
Can you post the image after the write attempt ?
And what happen if you write protect the image ? (set the image as read only on the pc or use the internal menu to change the write protect state : https://hxc2001.com/docs/gotek-floppy-e ... tings.html)
(btw do you know what the system 24 is supposed to write to the disk ?)

Re: Gotek Sega system 24 - Hotrod
I'll check tomorrow when I'm back at the workshop with the machine.
That image is actually from the USB drive after it was attempted to be written to.
I'm not actually sure what the System 24 is trying to write back to the drive.
When the machine arrived, it had the original drive and disk. The original drive was faulty, but got it working with an old compaq floppy and the original disk.
This slowly began to fail and gave errors at various stages, sometimes 10 minutes, sometimes an hour. It now got to the point where it wouldn't load at all. (That disc showed a bad sector when being read from the HxC software)
Wanted to do away with troublesome drives and discs, but maybe I have another hardware issue?
Anyhow, I'll check the results after trying to change those parameters on the file and also the Gotek menu.

Re: Gotek Sega system 24 - Hotrod
This might also be an issue with your Artery Gotek with only 32KB of RAM (vs 64KB for the old STM32 Goteks). If the System 24 try to write the big 8KB sectors this may fail. I will release a new version to mitigate this memory size issue.
Anyway the image looks untouched.

Re: Gotek Sega system 24 - Hotrod
Tried playing with the settings of the file, read only attribute on, or off. Still makes no difference.
Actually now, I dont even get to the coin loading screen. It comes up with write error earlier in the bootup sequence now.
Watching a video on the system, the game writes high scores to the disc. Possibly other game settings too.

Re: Gotek Sega system 24 - Hotrod
After a little more experimenting, I discovered a corrupt USB drive.
So after reformatting that, I am back to the write error after the second stage of the game booting.
Will wait to see if your new version for the 32kb ram version helps.
Thanks
