HxC Floppy Emulator Manager for DOS
HxC Floppy Emulator Manager for DOS
I've ported the Amiga manager app to DOS. You can download it here:
http://github.com/bjt42/hxcfs
It should run on anything from an original IBM PC with MDA upwards.
I've made a video showing it in action here:
https://youtu.be/rfovFoMaL54
Let me know if you have any questions/comments.

Re: HxC Floppy Emulator Manager for DOS
Nice ! I will try it
One possible interesting thing to add is the command line mode. This may be interesting to be able to change the disk from a batch script.

Re: HxC Floppy Emulator Manager for DOS
Yes, that could be a good feature.
Was interested to see that you've ported the HxC firmware to the Gotek devices. I'll get hold of a Gotek and try the PC file selector with it.

Re: HxC Floppy Emulator Manager for DOS
I can confirm that the DOS version of the Floppy Emulator Manager works fine on a Gotek flashed with the 3.0.5.4a HxC firmware.
Re: HxC Floppy Emulator Manager for DOS
Not a surprise . Both use exactly the same protocol. Anyway they may have some changes in the future.bjt wrote:I can confirm that the DOS version of the Floppy Emulator Manager works fine on a Gotek flashed with the 3.0.5.4a HxC firmware.
Re: HxC Floppy Emulator Manager for DOS
Cool tool, thanks for porting it! I'm finding it very useful.
Re: HxC Floppy Emulator Manager for DOS
There is a new version out now which adds better keyboard handling and floppy error recovery.
Re: HxC Floppy Emulator Manager for DOS
Hi Jeff
Just a heads up. I was testing the selector software with my HxC Slim (firmware 2.1.2.40) and noticed that the problem with entering direct access mode from a HD floppy image happens with this hardware too.

Cheers

Re: HxC Floppy Emulator Manager for DOS
Hi:
Nice program. But what I wonder is what can you make if you want to have some floppy images that you need in order when you can't use the HxCFS program.
I mean for example that you want to install MSDos. I've tried creating a drawer and inside I've got the files named with the usual DSKA0000 and next names, so I selected using the Flopply emulator manager for Dos the first as A: But when the MSDos installation asked for the second floppy, clicking the Gotek button didn't work to change to the next floppy on that drawer.

Re: HxC Floppy Emulator Manager for DOS
Use the latest firmware & cfg file and use the windows version of the manager to preselect the images :Retrofan wrote:Hi:

Re: HxC Floppy Emulator Manager for DOS
Jeff, can we please get an updated DOS only version please?
The version at the top of this thread is missing a heap of stuff that is in the Amiga version, including niceties like putting an image into a slot and automatically moving to the next slot.

Re: HxC Floppy Emulator Manager for DOS
